Guitarist Brady Novotny

Brady Novotny started playing the guitar at the age of 10. Determined to be a world class guitarist, he left his first guitar lesson with his instructor telling him basically to give it up now.  Thus he was introduced to criticism and disappointment early in his endeavor. Nevertheless, Brady heard a guitar player that would motivate him to push all that aside and re-energrize his passion to continue; that guitar player was Randy Rhoads.  Brady soon fell in love with classical and melodic guitar playing.  Brady practiced restlessly learning everything from classical pieces, melodic and virtuosic solos from 80's guitar heroes, to jazz fusion.

Brady loved the guitar, and truly, that has been his passion.  He attended Berklee College of Music for a little time.  At the age of 19, he was asked to teach summer guitar workshop at Duquesne University.  As life often happens, however, Brady got burned out and went back to school and received his masters in Psychology. Yep, that's right — Psychology.  But the passion is back and stronger than ever, plus it never hurts to have some money!

Brady set out to do an instrumental project that would have his listeners singing the haunting melodies while holding their attention by uniquely placed guitar virtuosity and dynamic rhythms creating a fusion of rock, flamenco, and jazz.  His love for a variety of musical styles led him to study under many teachers in his life.  Brady started out playing Classical guitar at the age of 10.  Ever since then, Brady has had a strong affection for nylon string guitar sound. Ultimately, this led him to study Flamenco guitar. He immediately fell in love with the passion, virtuosity and rhythm of this style.  The shred of the 80’s was one of his main influences and guilty pleasures, while Jazz was a big influence on Brady’s chordal choices and song color.

Brady has a wide range of experience in the music business. His experience ranges from the Pittsburgh rock scene to national tours.  He has worked as a Pittsburgh session guitarist, Worship leader, and guitarist at several mega churches. He has also taught guitar at clinics and universities.

His 2019 release with MTS Management Group/MTS Records is “Passions Collide” featuring the lead single, “Redemption’s Cry.” The song, featuring a hauntingly beautiful vocal from Brady’s wife, Jennifer, chartied on the Airplay Today national radio charts. The 2nd single, the title track, reached Top 5 on the iTunes sales charts, while staying on the airplay charts for several months.  Brady’s latest single and video is “Ancient Romance.”  Released in December 2019, the video was filmed on location in St. Augustine, Florida.  It premiered on The Christian Beat.

Angela joins us today to discuss her incredible music and her newest album, LOVE.

Angela was a finalist in Adweek’s advertising music contest, and won finalist placement in the Song of the Year contest for her songs “Extra Day” and “My New Favorite Song,” among other songwriting accolades.  Angela has also been featured on the radio industry hub, AllAccess, and interviewed as a “rising star” in Thrive Global and Medium’s Authority Magazine.

You may have heard Angela's music on AAA, public or college radio, or in retail locations. No matter where you’ve heard her songs, though, one thing is certain: she loves to write music. Angela gives composing, writing, playing and singing her all.

Music is her passion. Angela’s first instrument was the piano, and she later took up classical voice and the acoustic guitar. Early on, she was influenced by the music her family listened to, which included everything from 1950’s R & B to the popular music of the time. Growing up in the Detroit area where Motown music invokes a special pride, Angela was exposed to the great work of artists like Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson. Major influences include The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, and vocalists Christina Aguilera, Sarah McLachlan, Norah Jones and the timeless voice of Sam Cooke.

Always striving to grow as a composer, singer and musician, she never stops analyzing music theory and pushing herself as a singer and composer. Angela is an active member of local and national songwriting groups. With the goal of making music that can stand up with the best of the best, Angela Predhomme will continue to develop her honest, thoughtful songwriting, and her captivating, bluesy voice.

RALPH JOHNSON is an American singer, songwriter, musician and producer. Johnson is a longstanding member of the band Earth, Wind & Fire.  Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. Earth, Wind, and Fire were awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

FKM grew up without a father, was homeless as a teenager, and was incarcerated for 2 years when his son was 3 and his wife was pregnant with their daughter. FKM turned his life around at this point and has NEVER LOOKED BACK. He's now making his way as a rap artist, trying to make a difference in the lives of young people.

In this two part interview, we speak with both Ralph & FKM about the unique circumstances that brought them together.

Grammy Award winner Alan Parsons

Alan Parsons is an English audio engineer, songwriter, musician and record producer best known for his work on The Alan Parsons Project. He began his career at the age of 19, where he worked at Abbey Road, assisting in the production of the last two Beatles albums. In 1974 he received his first (of more than a dozen) Grammy nominations for his work on Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. Through his work on The Alan Parsons Project, which was formed in 1975, Alan has had several top 40 hits including Eye in the Sky, Games People Play and Don’t Answer Me.

Alan joins us today to talk about his incredible career, including his recent Grammy nomination, his latest album “The Secret” released April 26, 2019 (his first album in 15 years), as well as his 2019 tour. We also discuss his experience watching the Great American Total Solar Eclipse in 2017 and his free concert on July 13, 2019, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11.

About Alan

Grammy Award winner Alan Parsons was born into a family with an impressive history in entertainment. His great-grandfather was the celebrated actor/manager Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree. His mother was an actress, professional folk singer and harpist and his father, Denys Parsons, an accomplished pianist and flautist as well as the author of many books. The late Oliver Reed, film actor was a cousin. His uncle, David Tree was also a film and stage actor.

Alan was fortunate enough to work as assistant engineer on the last two albums by The Beatles and after he qualified as a fully-fledged recording engineer, he went on to work with Paul McCartney and The Hollies among many others. But it was his contribution as engineer on Pink Floyd’s classic The Dark Side Of The Moon that really got him world attention. That soon led to striking successes as a producer – notably with Pilot’s Magic, John Miles’ Highfly and Music and Steve Harley’s (Come Up And See Me) Make Me Smile. He also produced the hugely successful Year Of The Cat album with Al Stewart and two albums with American prog rock band Ambrosia.

In 1975 he met Eric Woolfson who not only became his manager, but joined forces with Alan as a songwriting and performing partner for what became known as The Alan Parsons Project. The APP’s debut album, Tales Of Mystery And Imagination based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe paved the way for a signing to Clive Davis’ newly launched Arista label and a string of hit albums, namely I Robot (1977), Pyramid (1978), The Turn of a Friendly Card (1980), Eye in the Sky (1982), Ammonia Avenue (1984), Vulture Culture (1985), Stereotomy (1986) and Gaudi (1987).

Alan’s longtime hobby has been performing magic, and he regularly attends the legendary Magic Castle in Hollywood where he is a magician member.

Alan lives on an organic avocado ranch in Santa Barbara, California with his wife Lisa and numerous farm animals and pets.

Brian May is a founding member of Queen, a world-renowned guitarist, songwriter, producer and performer, also a Doctor of Astrophysics, 3-D stereoscopic photographic authority and a passionate advocate and campaigner for animal rights.

It's been an exciting year for Brian and 2019 is going to get a great start. Brian is the executive music producer for the new Bohemian Rhapsody movie, which has been nominated for the Golden Globes. He also released his book MISSION MOON 3D, offering the first 3D images of the Apollo missions to the Moon. He's also getting ready to release his first new single as a solo artist in over two decades, titled “New Horizons,” inspired in part by Dr. Alan Stern, the principal investigator for the New Horizons spacecraft mission.

In our latest episode Brian discusses his passions in music, space & photography, and announces how he plans to kick off 2019 by giving “New Horizons” a world premiere directly from NASA Control center in Maryland at 12:02 a.m. EST on January 1st, 2019, as the spacecraft zooms past the Kuiper Belt's Ultima Thule, which is located a billion miles beyond Pluto.
