Interview with Will Turpin, a Multi-platinum artist and songwriter, bassist for the Atlanta rock band Collective Soul.


Will is a member of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and has spent his life surrounded by all types of music. Collective Soul officially formed in late 1993 and charted an astounding seven No. 1 hits and 19 Top 40 singles in a seven-year period. To date they have sold more than 15 million records worldwide and continue to tour while still producing new material.

ABOUT WILL TURPIN

Will Turpin grew up around music. For more than four decades his father Bill Turpin has owned and operated Real 2 Reel Studio in Jonesboro, Georgia., a “Class A” recording facility that has seen and produced some of the south’s music’s greatest acts. It’s also where Will, who attended Georgia State School of Music in the early 1990s, cut Serengeti Drivers, his second outing as a solo artist and first full-length CD. Will's first solo effort, The Lighthouse, was a five-song EP released in 2012 and was distributed on his indie label, Gooey Records. He also released a recording of the Christmas carol, “What Child Is This?” in 2013. When not touring with Collective Soul Will gigs with his backing band, The Way and also hosts the annual “Rock the Cradle,” a rockin’ Christmas-themed charity concert.
