Interview with Young Sheldon's mom Zoe Perry!


Zoe Perry is best known for portraying Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, one of the most watched comedies on network television. Previously, Zoe had recurring roles in the television series “Scandal” and “The Family,” and guest starred in “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” Zoe was also a guest star on NCIS and “Cold Case.” Most recently Zoe starred alongside Gary Cole in the new movie Everyday Miracles.

In this interview Zoe talks about how she got started in acting and how she landed the role as Mary Cooper, the mother of the child prodigy in ‘Young Sheldon', info about Season 4, and how she literally followed in her mother's footsteps. Zoe also discusses her role as Maxine in Everyday Miracles, a movie about a reluctant faith healer tries to escape his troubled past, but his evangelist mother will stop at nothing to exploit her son’s miraculous gifts.

ABOUT ZOE PERRY

With two successful parents in the industry, Zoe grew up playing on film and television sets. Now that she found her own success as an actor, she’s had the opportunity to appear with both her father, Jeff Perry, and mother, Laurie Metcalf, on several projects. Her role in YOUNG SHELDON defines casting perfection as she portrays a younger version of Mary Cooper, a role her mother originated on “The Big Bang Theory.”

Previously, Zoe had recurring roles in the television series “Scandal” and “The Family,” and guest starred in “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice,” “My Boys,” “Conviction” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” Also, Perry was a guest star on NCIS and “Cold Case,” both on the Network.

Zoe has an extensive theater background, including a production of “Anna Christie” at the Odyssey Theater alongside Jeff Perry and Kevin McKidd, “The Other Place” at the Manhattan Theater Club on Broadway, “Good Television” at the Atlantic Theater Company and “The Way West and Pot Mom” at Steppenwolf Theater. In addition, Perry appeared in “The Lieutenant of Inishmore” at Mark Taper Forum, “Peace in Our Time” and “The Autumn Garden” at the Antaeus Theater.

Zoe's film credits include “No Pay, Nudity” with Gabriel Byrne, “Cotton” with Gary Cole, “Turkey Bowl,” “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” and “Deception.”

Zoe is a graduate of Northwestern University and currently resides in Los Angeles.

ABOUT EVERYDAY MIRACLES

Reluctant faith healer Cotton Welles (Erik Smith) tries to escape his troubled past by working as a ranch hand for a plain-spoken widower (Gary Cole) and his young daughter (Dani Fish). Over time, Cotton becomes a part of their family and even falls in love with a local girl (Zoe Perry) who helps out at the ranch, giving him hope that he may have finally found a place to call home. But soon, Cotton's dreams are threatened when his evangelist mother (Lusia Strus) tracks him down, vowing to get her son and his miraculous gifts back on the revival circuit.
