I had the pleasure of meeting Bret recently at Kennedy Space Center for the launch of the SpaceX CRS-15 resupply mission to the International Space Station. On board the spacecraft was CIMON, an orb-shaped device with a digital face that was jointly developed by IBM, Airbus and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). CIMON uses the power of IBM’s Watson to provide Artificial Intelligence aboard the space station. In today's episode Bret also discusses how Watson helps CIMON provide AI for the astronauts and what the future of AI looks like.

Apple’s iPhone has come a long way since the original release in 2007, revolutionizing an industry, changing our culture and even stirring up the recent controversies of “Slow Phone Gate” and “Smart Phone rehab”. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with them, fortunately more love than hate even now.

Personally I’ve been extremely happy with the convenience and thrills Apple products have given me over the last decade. While I’m not happy with the #SlowPhoneGate and how that was handled, I am excited to be a part of this revolution, for both my business and my family. And coming from the Microsoft life, I can say that the innovation of Apple has inspired me to be a better programmer by making my applications as intuitive and user-friendly as they can be.

Cybersecurity is the process of keeping your digital files and assets safe from theft or attack. A Cybersecurity Policy is basically a formal set of rules for staff to follow to help prevent theft of information assets.

Passwords must be changed on a regular basis and must be strong/complex. Making them memorable is a big help, but never share them or write them down. Instead use a password manager, such as LastPass or Dashlane.

Backup your data automatically on a continuous basis. Online services such as Crashplan, Carbonite, BackBlaze and MozyPro are available which encrypt your files for safety. But be sure to verify your backup system works!
